[SOLVED] how to go from waiting to invoiced?

[SOLVED] how to go from waiting to invoiced?

Postby birdsarah » Tue Sep 08, 2009 3:51 pm

Hi.

Firstly, sraps, we pm'd a while ago. Congratulations on creating this - it's fantastic - I think there's a lot of people who'll need this - it's a great addition to OpenERP.

I'm stuck on something which I think is really obvious but I'm clearly missing the point. How do you get an Invoice to go from Waiting to Invoiced? I have a series of invoices in waiting, no errors have been thrown up by the checking module - but I can't figure out the next step.

I'm sure it's really obvious - I appreciate anyone's assistance. Sincerely,

bird

Hi,
yes I remember we did some correspondence a while ago, and thank you for your good reference.

Well, I assume you have some problems with Agreement, where Invoice log entries are in Waiting state.

The invoice log entries correspond to scheduled invocations of the invoicing process. It means that invoicing will be fired up on the stated time. Waiting state means, that the scheduled time has not come yet.

Scheduler in OpenERP is not so precise on firing up, so it basically may be an error for several minutes. Typically in a scale of a month it would probably not cause any trouble.

If you have created the agreement, forced it into Running state, and it still does not processes the schedule as soon as you may want to, you may want to restart the OpenERP service. It will make the system process all the delayed actions, at once.

Exactly!

I have restarted the openerp-server and client

for my test - i have 14 Invoice Log entries at 1 month intervals from 08/01/2008 to 09/01/2009 so, theoretically I would imaging that given that they're all past dated it should have run them all by now.

I am wondering whether I have not enabled the openerp scheduler or misset permissions or something. I know it's almost impossible to debug someone elses problems with such little information - but do you have any tips on where I can even check if the scheduler is working?

Many, many thanks, (and sorry for the stupid questions)

So this was very stupid - and nothing to do with your software - I was running openerp-server 5.0.3 on ubuntu jaunty - when i uninstalled it and went to 5.0.0 everything started working - thanks for taking the time. will let you know how my implementation goes.

For note:

We have tested Invoicing modules on server version 5.0.3. Seems to be working without any modifications.

So if there are any problems, they are most likely due to faulty setup.

Is there something that needs to be done to get the scheduler to run? Although the schedulers show active they are not running. I am running OperERP 5.0.0 on OSX server.

It is quite interesting... Although there are obvious problems with scheduler for several users, we have everything working without a hitch on our systems. Tested even on the newest server versions, so this is not the reason.

Please provide more detailed information on this:
1) screenshots of all three objects (Methodology, Service, Agreement)
2) check Requests of the group that have been set in Service, and Admin user too.
3) check server log file.

I will try to help with this, as soon as you send in more information.

Well, it has nothing to do with the Methodology, Service or Agreement objects and no errors are logged. None of the Scheduled Actions are running. I downloaded the Openbig virtual OpenERP and was able to create a Scheduled Action that updates every minute but on my OSX server none of the Scheduled Actions run. I am wondering if there is something that needs to be setup in OpenERP or the operating system to run run the Scheduled Actions or does OpenERP need to be started with an option for to run the Scheduled Actions. I have found references about an OpenERP action called "Run All Scheduled Actions" but I don't see this in this version of OpenERP. I can't find any reference on how the Scheduled Actions work but found others who have run into this issue too. Any help is welcomed.

Yes this seems to be the reason. We have no OSX servers on hand to make some troubleshooting. Will think of possible reasons of this behavior, but this is generic bug of OpenERP, at least it looks like.

I was able to get this to work by setting the db_name in the openerp-server.conf file to the name of the database being used. Thank you!
